Minecraft Note Block Song

JMU Fight Song

As a fun side project, I recreated the JMU Fight Song using note blocks in Minecraft! To get it just right, I listened to the song hundreds of times, figuring out the notes and rhythms by ear. I’ve always loved having creative outlets, and this one combined my passion for music, games, and a bit of engineering. It was so cool to bring a real-world tune to life inside a virtual world I’ve adored for years. I might be grown now, but my love for Minecraft is forever. It’s such a versatile platform for imagination and experimentation. Along the way, I also got to dive into redstone mechanics, which honestly reminded me a lot of concepts in computer science and logic circuits. It was fun, nerdy, and totally worth it.

Steve’s Lava Chicken

I also built the iconic “Steve’s Lava Chicken” song in Minecraft using note blocks. It was just as chaotic and hilarious as it sounds. This project was purely for fun, and honestly, it was such a blast. I loved figuring out how to time everything just right and make those clucky, quirky rhythms work in the game. It was a silly challenge, but that’s what made it so entertaining. Minecraft continues to be one of my favorite creative outlets, and building something ridiculous like this reminds me that learning and experimenting can be joyful and weird, in the best way possible.

Minecraft Build

The Hills Southview

I built The Hills Southview, an apartment complex in Harrisonburg, right inside Minecraft! I love bringing real-life places into the game. It makes the world feel even bigger and more connected. This was one of the larger builds I’ve tackled, and I’m really proud of how it turned out. The attention to detail was crazy. I even created my own room inside the complex to make it feel truly lived-in. To take it a step further, I used plugins to add extra detail and realism, making the whole build come alive in a way that felt both fun and impressive.
