From August 2015 to May 2022, I had an amazing time being part of concert band! I got to play all kinds of instruments. I played concert percussion, percussion ensemble, and euphonium and performed in different bands all throughout middle and high school. At some concerts, I even performed in every ensemble on the program, switching instruments but never leaving the stage! It was such a fun and rewarding experience that helped me grow as a musician and I made so many great memories along the way.Indoor Drumline

Woodbridge Indoor Drumline - Bass 1
From October 2019 to March 2020, I was part of the Woodbridge Indoor Drumline, and it was one of the most exciting and meaningful experiences of my music journey. Being part of the first season where the group moved up from Scholastic A Class to Open Class was incredibly special, and we even took first place at one of the few competitions we were able to attend. Although the season was cut short by COVID, it really deepened my love for the drums and gave me a chance to be part of something unforgettable.

Forest Park Jazz Band - Auxiliary Percussion and Acoustic Guitar
From August 2021 to May 2022, I had the chance to be part of the jazz band, and it was such a fun and refreshing way to explore a new genre of music! I got to play both auxiliary percussion and acoustic guitar, which added a lot of variety and excitement to each performance. One of the highlights was writing and playing a conga duet for one of our pieces. It was such a cool experience to contribute something original to the group's sound and see it come to life on stage.

From May 2019 to December 2022, the marching band became one of the most influential parts of my life. Funny enough, at the start of high school, I wasn’t sure if I even wanted to join, but my best friend convinced me to give it a try. The only catch? Drumline auditions were the very next day. We dove headfirst into learning bass drum techniques, practicing nonstop for what felt like the whole day. The effort paid off, and we both made the line! Over the years, I had the chance to play every kind of drum in the drumline, and even during the challenges of COVID, we found ways to mask up and still play together. I grew tremendously as a drummer and leader, eventually becoming drumline captain. Marching band gave me not just skills, but unforgettable memories and friendships.

Pep Band @ Home Basketball Game
In August 2024, I decided to branch out musically and joined the pep band. To make it extra exciting, I picked up the alto sax for the first time! Pep band has such a fun, high-energy vibe that's completely different from any other band I’ve been part of. It’s all about bringing spirit and excitement to the crowd, and I’ve loved every second of it. One of my favorite moments so far was playing in the front row of the stands during a basketball game and getting to high-five one of the players. It was such a cool, unexpected connection between music and the game.
